Expert Awareness for Advanced Firefighters & Fire Behaviour Analysts


The spread of an escalated fire may potentially be beyond the skill of most officers without Fire Behaviour Analyst training. Predictions require good data on slope and aspect, fuel type and loading and site weather.

A fire's rate of spread increwases rapidly with slope. However there is no universally accepted means of correcting for slope.

This website is dedicated to bringing forward the latest research findings. They are provided to allow firefighters to be made aware of critical safety issues ahead of the material being included in the national training curriculum.
